Immerse yourself in the vibrant sounds of Brazilian percussion at our exciting drumming workshop. Experience the deep, resonant tones of the Surdo, the crisp, rattling rhythms of the Caixa, and the sharp, lively beats of the Tamborim.
Under the expert guidance of seasoned musician and teacher Rod Pilois, you’ll delve into the fundamentals of Samba and Brazilian percussion, exploring a variety of traditional playing styles. With Rod’s extensive background in Samba, world music, and performing arts, you’re in expert hands.
Participants will also have the opportunity to perform at community or arts events with Beat Factor Samba School. No prior musical training is necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and an open mind! Sessions for school years run from 1 to 2 PM, and sessions for ages 16 and up from 2 to 3 PM
