2025 SESSIONS:
Beatfactor Music was proud to be part of the Wyndham Learning Festival once again in 2025, for a Free drum class to the Wyndham community on Thursday 4th September, Saltwater Community Centre, Point Cook. It was a fun session, regardless of experience or first-timers, everyone was able to come together, share the experience and connect with one another. Great drumming skills learnt with lots of laughs on the night.

Our end of year concert is a great way to end the year and showcase all the students hard work and skills to others, only if they wish to be part of the event.

For any adults or seniors who wish to have a go at group drum classes. No experience necessary, just a willingness to have fun and play the drums. We welcome you to try out drumming and see if it’s for you. It’s great for reducing stress, mental health, social connections and great fun.
Please feel free to let your friends and family know about it.
Our classes are small to medium size, that way everyone receives special attention in the class.

Join Rod (Ensemble Director) from Beat Factor for weekly workshops where beginners, intermediate to advanced drummers can explore an array of genres including Afro-Cuban, West-African, and Brazilian-Caribbean styles. Workshops run on Thursday evenings between 7.30pm-8.30pm

BEATFACTOR COMMUNITY DRUM CLASS-POINT COOK
Beatfactor Community Drum Classes have been running in the Wyndham area for approximately 8 years. Instructor, performer and multi-instrumentalist, Rod Pilois is very passionate and committed to the discipline and art form of drumming. He is a qualified and dedicated music educator that loves to share his skills, knowledge, and expertise with people of all ages and levels of drumming. As a long-term music educator and performer in the art of drumming, he can attest to its many benefits that include, improved coordination, enhances energy, improved focus, reduction in stress levels, improves well-being, it’s fun and keeps you fit and healthy.
Point Cook Beatfactor Drum Classes are held on Thursday evenings at 7.30pm to 8.30pm at the Saltwater Community Centre, community room 1, 153 Saltwater Promenade, Point Cook, Victoria, Melbourne. The centre is spacious with parking facilities. Community room 1 is large with heating in winter and cooling in summer, making it ideal for all year-round location for learning community drumming.
The Point Cook venue offers classes in African djembe hand drums and the larger dun dun stick drums. Whilst other hand percussion such as Bells and shakers are also used to enhance the rhythm of the pieces learnt. Classes are available for both beginners and intermediate students.
Other forms of drumming are taught after a certain time, such as Samba drumming style. Our students love using all the Brazilian percussion such as the 4 large Surdo Drums, Snare/Caixi drums for lovers of stick drums and other hand percussion instruments, Tamborims and Ganza to add the sparkle to the class favourite “Samba Carnivale’.
If you have ever contemplated drumming, whether it is for you, come and join us for a free class and try it out. During that hour you’ll be taking through a series of stretching, warmups, coordination exercises and drumming rhythms of course to try out. Join us and meet like-minded people, have fun, and energise your body. Our class is welcoming and always happy to see new faces. Just bring comfortable clothing, an open mind, and a desire to play the drums.
Location: Saltwater Community Centre, community room 1, 153 Saltwater Promenade, Point Cook.

Term 1: Thursday 6 February to 27 March.
TERM 2: CLASSES
Session 1: Thursdays-May 1 to 29th (x 5 weeks)
Session 2: Thursdays-June 5th to 03 July (x 4 weeks)- No classes on 12 June
TERM 3: CLASSES
New single or double class -Try outs for September.
Session 1: Thursdays-August 7th to 28th (x 4 weeks)
Session 2: Thursdays-September 4th to 18th (x 3 weeks)
TERM 4: CLASSES
Spring Special-Only $100 for 4 week course- New enrolments only. (Including Wyndham Learning Festival drum class attendees)
Session 1: Thursdays-October 9th to 30th (x 4 weeks)
Session 2: Thursdays-November 13th to 4th December (x 4 weeks)

Term & Monthly Fees:
Our Term or monthly fees must be made prior to the starting date of the Term or month you are enrolled in. If you cannot make a class, at least 24 hours notice must be given for a credit to be applied. You can re-join the class when you are able to. If less that 24 hours notice, then you will forfeit the lesson credit.
If you know you will be away during any of the 4 week sessions, please let us know before the starting date and you will not be charged for that particular class, or join us for a catch up class.
Please note that Saltwater Community Centre requires 2 weeks notice for a cancellation of classes, or else the hiring of the venue for classes will be charged to Beatfactor Music regardless.
Video & Photo: We do not encourage videos of the class instructions unless it is allowed by the teacher and it is for personal use for revision and practice. Short instructional videos are regularly made for each short course, a link will be provided to you once full payment is received and made available for viewing.
4 Week courses: Once you have completed a session of a 4 week course, you are encouraged to continue with another 4 week course, as the courses does progress to other drumming skills and styles.
The learning progresses from week to week, month to month. There’s always something new to learn.
Please join us for a try-out class from October to November, for a reduced fee, If you love it and would like to continue, we would love you to be part of our community drum class.
Fees:
SPRING SPECIAL: $100 for 4 week of classes.
$30 for casual class per person.
