Some of our Beginner students receiving their certificates after a great first term of drumming classes.
Join us for our weekly Beat Factor Drum Class sessions at Saltwater Community Centre, Point Cook. We provide all drums, bells, Shakers, Djembes, Darbukas, Caxixis, Surdos and Dun Duns or feel free to bring your own drum.
Our experience teacher is fully qualified and has the ability to teach diverse levels, from beginners to experienced drummers. Whether you’re comfortable playing simple parts or to try out our more advanced and complex parts, we cater for you, so you can join in the class. The class has a supportive and friendly atmosphere for anyone with all abilities who wants to drum, groove out on Afro, middle-eastern and Samba rhythms and feel great. All are welcome

Rod Pilois
Rod Pilois is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and music educator. Rod has played with a number of artists from various musical styles and background, from Rock, Jazz, Latin, Reggae & Ska. Projects have been from independent bands to commercial outfits and has performed with other musicians and artists overseas.
Brought up in Melbourne from an early age, his drumming experience began in Primary School, where he played in the drum corps, marching the students to their classrooms every morning.
Rod later attended the prestigious, College of the Arts, Melbourne, where he completed his Bachelor of Music Performance Degree. He later attended Monash University, where he obtained his Graduate Diploma of Education. Since then Rod has worked for the Education department for the last 20 years teaching Drums, Bass, guitar and running percussion ensembles and rock bands in schools. Since obtaining his Masters Degree in Music Technology from University of Newcastle, Rod has trained students in Certificate III music in music performance, song-writing, electronic compositions and music business.
Out of his passion for drumming and teaching, he started a community drumming group (Beat Factor Drum Group) in the West where his students have performed at various multicultural arts Festivals and Pop Up Parks performing African and Latin drumming. Rod has also performed at past major events, such as Australian Grand Prix, Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, AFL Grand Final Parade, Moomba Parade, Fringe Festival and at various corporate events in Melbourne.
